Dr Pooja M Khamar – An excellent hospital for eye problems. The doctor was very much genuine and the staff were very helpful. My mother had cataract problem and we had consulted various eye specialist for the solution. But we had not got the proper treatment since two years. Then upon advise of one of our well-wisher we came to Narayana Nethralaya and the surgery was fixed within one week and went on well too. Thank you for your timely treatment. Thank you once again.

Dr. Sharon Dsouza, the healing lady with a magic wand.. I am very happy to take this as an opportunity to say a few words about Dr. Sharon Dsouza..This review is a bit lengthy, but my personal experience hence sharing in detail.A quick background of my medical history related to my eye and my association with Narayana Nethralaya -8 years ago, I happened to suddenly see severe fluctuations in my eye sight – there was a drastic increase in my left eye power.. I was introduced to Narayana Nethralaya by a trusted source. Was fortunate to have got introduced to Dr. Rohit Shetty those days who was and is one of the best cornea surgeons in the world. I was diagnosed with Keratoconus and due to the severity and urgent need, I was operated and treated by Dr. Rohit Shetty.. Thankfully, I was back to normal in less than a year. While the problem was addressed and an intax put inside my eye, the vision correction did not happen as expected. Nevertheless, the surgery was successful and my life got back to normal. Many thanks to Dr. Rohit Shetty for the same. Now, after a long span of 8 years, I was infected with Conjunctivitis in the month of February 2020 on the same eye that was operated for Keratoconus. While it took a couple of weeks to completely get rid of Conjunctivitis, to my bad the infection had left my eye with a damage on the cornea. My eye had become so weak that the cornea used to get scraped even with slightest impact like wiping the face with a towel, exposing eye to sunlight and probabilities of some small impact / injury that might have occurred during sleep.. Initially, every week I landed up in Narayana Nethralaya due to too much of discomfort and unbearable irritation + pain; when checked, the cornea would have got scraped / scratched.. There was an instance where I rushed to Narayana Nethralaya on an emergency basis, due to unbearable pain and swelling of my eyes – that day cornea was out by 60%… I was immediately attended, treated and made recover from this particular event, in less than 2 days. While it was a typical case which had by then got complicated and called for a next level decision making (surgery, or a different critical approach).. Dr. Sharon Dsouza who has been the doctor treating me this time, took a stance not to go to the surgery level, instead, treat it in the conventional way, but more carefully, with more contribution from my end in rightly protecting my eye from further injuries (even if it had to be at a small and negligible level)… She changed the entire scenario, giving it it a great pace towards recovery… She changed my medication from time to time as appropriate, so the recovery happens in a precisely monitored and controlled manner… Her rich experience and expertise, helped me to such a great extent that it has been almost a month now, that my eye is getting back to normal…It gave me more satisfaction when I learnt that Dr. Sharon Dsouza is not just a Consultant in Cornea department of Narayana Nethralaya, but she is also one of the top surgeons expertized in Keratoconus surgery and Cornea transplants… Not stopping there, she also represents institutions of ophthalmology at committee levels….Holding such a big portfolio and being such a down to earth personality – is just unbelievable…Personally, special thanks to Dr. Sharon Dsouza for the confidence that she has on her Subject Matter Expertise and also for trusting me as a patient for speedy recovery… Her continued observation, monitoring progression / improvement has today given me a booster to be completely alright in a few weeks…Heart felt thanks to Dr. Sharon Dsouza and also to Dr. Rohit Shetty. My note to public: If you have a problem in your eye, your destination to get yourself treated and completely cured; and under the best world class doctors, then you should visit Narayana Nethralaya. And if Cornea related, then none other than Dr. Sharon Dsouza and Dr. Rohit Shetty..
