Advanced Phacoemulsification Programme

COURSE OBJECTIVE

This course is meticulously designed to offer ophthalmologists hands-on training in phacoemulsification, utilising cutting-edge equipment in both wet lab and live operation theatre settings. Candidates will have the invaluable opportunity to learn under the guidance of seasoned cataract surgeons, ensuring a comprehensive and advanced skill development experience.

Highlights of the course schedule

Optimal wet lab facility for trainees.

Virtual simulators for effective concept building and better hand-eye coordination.

The goal is to train ophthalmologists to become highly competent and meticulously trained surgeons in Phacoemulsification.

Surgeries are supervised by senior instructors until the surgeon gains confidence to perform independent surgeries.

Cataract training at our institute now incorporates a 3D guided display system to ensure that both the trainer and trainee share a synchronised visual perspective, enhancing collaborative surgical assistance and improving overall surgical precision.

Post-operative review of the cases was done by senior consultants.

Every training case is recorded and discussed at the end of the session for better recall and fine-tuning of techniques.

The course encompasses comprehensive instruction on IOL selection in different case scenarios, covering Toric IOL, EDOF IOL and Multifocal lenses.

Candidates will have regular lectures on Biometry and other advanced imaging modalities.

Candidates will have the opportunity to observe and gain insights into femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS).

Minimum number of Phacoemulsification surgeries: 25

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE

Phacoemulsification surgery under supervision in OT, along with training at the wet lab and simulator.

Phacoemulsification with minimal assistance.

Independent surgeries.

Qualified practising Ophthalmologist with MS / DO degree from recognised university with 3 years of experience in IOL surgery.

It is mandatory for all international candidates to get a temporary registration certificate from the National Medical Commission.

This process will take a minimum of three months to complete, and this process will be done through the organisation only.

Hence, the international candidates will get slots only after three months of the application submission

SMALL INCISION CATARACT SURGERY TRAINING PROGRAMME

COURSE OBJECTIVE

This course is meticulously crafted to provide ophthalmologists with immersive hands-on training in Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) within the operating theatre. Additionally, participants will benefit from practical wet lab sessions conducted by experienced senior cataract surgeons, ensuring a comprehensive and skill-enhancing learning experience.

One-on-one discussions on topics like biometry, dealing with complicated cases, newer IOLs, etc, are conducted to help you plan your patient care.
