Vitreoretinal super-speciality fellowship at Narayana Nethralaya aims at holistic training in Vitreo-retina (Surgical Retina), uvea and ROP and is therefore a unique blend of clinics, surgery, and research.
Over the years, the NN fellowship training program has evolved to incorporate research and academics at its very foundation. An array of academic activities, including case-based discussions, presentations, video-based skill transfer, seminars, and weekly journal clubs, keeps the trainees not just intellectually engaged but also helps to keep their clinical acumen sharp. Our fellows are motivated to present their research at various national and international fora to improve knowledge, build confidence and enhance oratory skills. This period of research is an extremely exciting time that opens up new avenues – attending scientific meetings, contributing to translational research and winning awards.
We, at Narayana Nethralaya, have effectively supervised optimal wet lab facilities for trainees. Need of the hour-Virtual simulator-based training is also provided to improve hand-eye coordination. The candidate initially gets to assist and subsequently operate on camp patients while ensuring patient safety. The goal is to coach the young ophthalmologist to become a highly ethical and meticulously trained specialist.
